How common it is

A substantial share of requests reaching agencies in the Netherlands and Flanders comes from couples, and for some companions it is around half of their bookings. That is why nearly every profile states whether someone is available for a couple. Where it says no, there is nothing to negotiate.

Surcharge or not

A number of agencies charge no separate surcharge and apply the rate shown on the profile. Others add a couple rate. On a single evening the difference runs into hundreds of euro, so it is a question to ask before booking.

What to agree in advance

• What each partner wants, stated separately rather than jointly.
• What will not happen, which matters as much as the first point.
• How the appointment stops if either partner wants it to: one agreed word, no discussion.
• Whether alcohol is involved, and how much.

The usual failure

The most common problem is a mismatch between the partners that surfaces too late. One expected to watch, the other expected to take part, and it came up only once the third person had arrived. Agencies therefore often ask for a short conversation with both partners first.

Afterwards

The conversation between the partners afterwards matters more than the appointment. Couples who skip it tend to return to it later without the calm to discuss it properly, which is why waiting before a second booking is the usual advice.
