What a booking costs
How rates are built up across the Benelux, what the amount includes and why profiles differ.
The short version
For the first two hours, agencies in the Netherlands and Flanders generally quote between five hundred and six hundred and fifty euro, averaging around five hundred and forty. Luxembourg sits structurally above that, because supply is small and demand is not.
| Item | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| First two hours | € 500 to € 650 | Averaging around € 540. Listed per profile. |
| Each additional hour | around € 150 | Broadly the same across Dutch and Flemish agencies. |
| Bookings over five hours | discount percentage | Rises with the length of the booking. |
| Dinner date | two hour rate | About two and a half hours available in practice. |
| Travel costs | separate | The one item added on top. Should be stated in advance. |
| VAT | included | Dutch agencies quote amounts with VAT included. |
| Couple surcharge | varies by agency | Some charge nothing extra, others do. |
What the rate covers
Dutch agencies normally quote an amount that includes VAT and covers the usual elements of an appointment, so nothing is itemised afterwards. Exactly what falls under that differs by agency and is set out on each agency's rates page.
Travel is the exception. It stands separately and rises with distance. Someone driving from Groningen to Maastricht spends four hours on the road, which is a real amount. An agency working carefully states it before the appointment is fixed.
Why one profile asks more than another
Four things explain most of it: how many requests someone receives, how available he is, how broadly he can be booked and how many years he has been registered. Someone starting out sits at the lower end. Someone in demand can ask more without an empty diary.
Paying
Cash at the appointment is still the most common arrangement. Bank transfer is possible at most agencies, with a neutral description on the statement. Advance payment through methods that cannot be reversed is a reason to stop at any agency; established parties in the Benelux do not ask for it.
Editorial recommendation
Of the agencies reviewed here, The Men's Company sets out its rate structure most completely: the starting amount, what the all in rate covers, the discount from five hours upward and the point that no couple surcharge applies.
